We are looking for HR Generalist to be based in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia

Objective

This role is primarily responsible for the full spectrum of Human Resources operational and administrative function. The incumbent will oversee the day-to-day HR Operations for both KL and Ipoh Office and support the Plant HR Operation. The incumbent will support all delivery of HR strategies and initiatives from HR Director and Group, apart from that responsible for HR system administration and HR reporting.

Responsibilities and Roles

  • Provide advice to managers and employees on employment regulations, interpretation of policy and procedures.
  • Support Managers with performance management processes and challenges on performance management practices.
  • Employee onboarding/off-boarding process.
  • Co-ordinate employee movement i.e., transfers, promotion with C&B team.
  • As and when assigned, support the Local HR and Global projects initiative, and implementation.
  • Partners with the stakeholders to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Back-up and support the Compensation and Benefits function, Plant HR Managers as and when the need arises.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development .
  • Daily/routine HR operational activities i.e., staff movement tracking and administration, arrange onboarding program, organize communication session with staff, assists on employee events, employee relations issues.
  • Act as contact point on HR related matter for Managers and employees.
  • Assist in budget planning, performance review, merit and bonus exercises.
  • Focal point for all HR communication and able to translate from English to Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Handles any employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, and employment law.
  • Prepare and generate regular reports for HR metrics, salary costs and HR activities.
  • Prepare, review and analyse data to provide key management information/statistics on core metrics including absences, performance management, ER to support business planning and decision making.
  • HRIS (Workday): To own and manage Workday application as Super User for talent acquisition, On-boarding, Organization Management and reporting modules. As data owner to ensure accuracy of data all the time.
  • To be trainer and guide all users on usage and maintenance of business processes in Workday, at the same time liaise with Group HRIS team to resolve issues encountered.
  • Maintain employee records in Workday, ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Participate in Workday projects.
  • As focal point to liaise with Group HRIS in resolving Workday issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Bachelor degree or any relevant experience in industrial sector
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of Human Resource experience
  • Languages in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Demonstrate learning agility, is committed to personal self-development and is hungry to learn; willing to share what they learn with others
  • Familiar with relevant legislation i.e. Employment Act
